Privacy Policy — Hermes Panel
How the app works (and why we don't collect data)
Hermes Panel has no backend of ours. When you open the app, you point it at the web address of a Hermes Panel server you (or your organization) operate. From then on, the app communicates only with that server. We never see, route, or receive your data.
Information stored on your device
To function, the app saves a small amount of data locally on your device only:
- The server address you entered.
- Authentication tokens issued by your server after you sign in, so you stay logged in.
- Appearance preferences (e.g. light/dark mode) and your app-lock preference.
This never leaves your device except as part of normal, secure requests to the server you chose. Clear it anytime via "Change server", signing out, or deleting the app.
Information we collect
None. The publisher does not collect, receive, or process any personal information through this app. We operate no servers your app data passes through, and we use no analytics or crash-reporting services that send us your information.
Network communication and third parties
The app makes network requests only to the server address you provide, over an encrypted HTTPS connection. It contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The operator of the server you connect to (which may be you) controls how data on that server is handled. This policy covers the app; it does not govern any individual self-hosted server.
Biometric authentication
If you enable the optional app-lock, the app asks your device to verify you with Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint. This is handled entirely by your device's operating system. The app never receives, sees, or stores your biometric data — it only receives a yes/no result.
Permissions
The app requests Face ID / biometrics only if you turn on app-lock, used solely to unlock the app. It does not request your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
Data security
Locally stored tokens and settings are kept in the app's sandboxed storage provided by iOS / Android. All communication with your server uses HTTPS. Because we hold none of your data, there is no central store of your information for us to lose.
Your rights and your data
Because your data resides on your own server, you control it directly there. Requests to access, export, or delete your content should be handled on your Hermes Panel server. Removing the app and clearing its data removes everything the app stored on your device.
Children's privacy
This app is a system-administration tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
